Certain fatalities in custody have been widely reported, for instance a middle-aged healthcare leader who died in detention after a third of a year in custody.

An inmate held with the victim testified that he was led to the exercise area by correctional officers just prior to his demise, visibly injured and exposed from the lower body. His corpse has not been returned to Gaza.
